This last week my server sort of crashed my account and it was five days and about seventeen email contacts (through a service ticket of course) before they somewhat got me back on my feet.  And in this time I lost the three posts I had made here.  Oh well, if I was really organized I would just go into the back up files and repost them!! Right!!  Well guess what, I will just have to reconstruct them over the next few days and attempt to get back on some sort of a schedule.

During this down time I started thinking about the real reason we like Adsense.  Not the nuts and bolts answers regarding how Google took the Internet my storm when they launched it nor the guru’s responses that we can all get filthy rich just by allowing a few ads on our webpages.  No, I was thinking about the romantic attraction (if there could ever be one here) we have in our attempt to connect a few squares of advertising to our checking account and get ahead in this world.

And I think that is it.  Our ATTEMPT to get this connecton. Modern man no longer goes on the daily hunt for a rabbit or salmon for tonights dinner so we need to substitute something for the urge to “conquer”.

Well, Adsense is something that we should conquer. When we get the upper hand then our paycheck is substantial and we are rewarded two-fold. One, of course, is the monetary return of having placed proper ads in the proper place on the proper page on the proper website (get the picture?). The other reward is the better one. We feel validated that we did indeed accomplish something within our own minds and create success from it.

Well, off to rebuild a post or two that actually has substance…..back in a day or two!
