Since Google came up with the billion dollar idea called Adsense the internet has changed dramatically and in a way nobody really would have thought of. Adsense was a brilliant marketing idea, simple but brilliant.

Before Adsense saw the lights people where all ready advertizing true Adwords, people used it a lot because it was faster than normal SEO to get on the top of the SERP’s (Search Engine Result Pages) marketers who wanted to start new projects had a great tool to see if there was any profit to be made with their sites before they went on doing SEO.

With the use of Adsense you can have your ads appeared on any site in Google’s content network that is in the same or related business as yours and get instant targeted traffic, no need to hire advertising companies that would cost a great deal of money, no you could do it yourself for a fraction of those cost. You now sign up with Google Adwords, come up with some great text for you ads and let Google figure out the rest , all you have to do is keep a eye on the cost.

Of course the biggest change that Adsense have brought the internet is from a publisher point of view, where it was really hard to support a website in the pre Adsense period of the internet, today it is totally different, now publishers are making tons of money of their website with Adsense, and this give the publishers even more motivation to have even better content and resources for their visitors.

Then it is no big surprise that blogging exploded when Adsense opened up their program a few years ago, every Tom Dick and Katrina could make some nice cash by just blogging about him/her self and his/her family.

And people cannot ignore the impact of Adsense on the average surfer, studies have been shown that experience surfers became banner blind, they wouldn’t notice the banners and that is totally different with text ads, people tend to look longer ad textual adds. Because of the setup it looks more trustworthy then a banner ad to the surfer.

But with the good comes the bad and that is what you see with Adsense to, MFA (Made For Adsense) sites, where people would build automated sites with no real content just for the sake so people would click those ads and then we have the phenomenon called “click fraud” where people or bots are click the Adsense ads. But Google is on top of all that and it isn’t the fault of Google that people try to scam them.

Adsense has change the internet advertising world dramatically, for businesses, publishers and individuals and I think there will be a lot more changes to come.
