When you are using Adsense for a while I’ll bet you have thought if there was a way to even squeeze out some more revenue out of your Adsense ads. Well let me give you some great tips on positioning your Adsense ads.
First there is no standard position that always will make you money; you’ll have to experiment with the ads position, you have to try out as many positions as your website allows you to find out what works the best for your website and with what setup you can get the most profits.
Of course there are places on your website that will work better than others, Google has published a so called “heat map“, this map shows you where you can find the best places to position your Adsense Ads, I will be repeating myself but again you’ll need to experiment to see what works for your surfers sub conscious minds.
Typically the best places to have you Adsense ads is above the main content, this is not a standard of anything but if you look at the heat map you see that the strongest performing ads are dark orange and on top of the main content area, the lighter the color the worst of you can be according to Google, but you know that you have to do some experimenting yourself. I know that I keep hammering on the experimenting part but that is so important when it comes to making money with Adsense, moving one ad can mean the difference between $25- a month or $25- a day.
The left site of a website seems also to be a good place to have your Adsense ads, which if you think about it is logical because people read from left to right so those ads will be notice sooner than on the right site of the website.
There are also other things you have to keep in mind, when you have setup your Adsense ads, check how the ads are located in the source code of the ad, because Adsense will start filling up the first code it comes across and when there are not enough ads to go around (for example you’re site is in a very small niche) your real main advertisement space could be ending up with public service ads where you get no revenue over.
There are more things to think of when it comes to placing your Adsense ads, like the number of ads, some people place as much ads as they can on their sites, but that is totally wrong, because they put them on places on their website where people will never click (see the heat map) and that will bring down your CTR (Click True Rate) drastically, so think it true before you place your Adsense ads on your website.
