When you are a publisher with a nice website that is generating a good amount of hits and you’re looking for ways to monetize your traffic, and now you’re looking at Adsense to make you some income. Google has changes the landscape of internet advertizing with the Adsense program, most of the publishers are saying that Adsense is the best thing after sliced bread, but is it …… really?
Well Adsense is a great program but like with everything else in life it also has some downsides that you should consider before putting it on your website. Let’s talk about the pro’s and the cons, because I am a positive individual let’s start with the positive side of Adsense.
The Pro’s.
In general Adsense is a great program for webmasters, if a webmaster/publisher plays it cards right he or she doesn’t have to worry about the cost of the website, the website could and should be self sustaining.
With Adsense webmasters and publishers don’t have to worry about the ads and can concentrate on what is really important and that is creating new fresh content for their sites, so more visitors visit your site and the more visitors visiting your site means more people clicking your ads meaning more money I the bank for you.
Adsense ads are easy to integrate in your website, with all the tools that Google is providing you customizing your ads will be a walk in the park.
Another great pro is that you only need one account for all your websites; it doesn’t matter if you have one or one hundred websites it is all the same to Google, with the handy channel option you can keep track on how much every site is making.
But as I told you, with the good comes the bad or as we say the con’s of the Adsense program.
The Cons.
The worst thing that can happen is Google closing down your account 9 out of 10 times it is because you’re suspected of click fraud, it really doesn’t have to be you who did the click fraud, it could be a competitor trying to get you out of the way.
The worst part is that you can’t proof that it wasn’t you because Google won’t let you see the data (proof) that they fund on which they decided to terminate your account, and it is really hard to get reinstated.
The earnings you make with Adsense are not constant, if traffic on your site is dropping so will your income, also there is the fact of the demand in keywords, if people stop bidding on them you will receive a fraction of the money you made a view days earlier or the ads will disappear interiorly.
And last you need to feed your site constantly with new fresh content so you can stay up in the SERPS, if you’re not a writer then you could have a problem because you need to stay in the spotlight of the search engines to make money.
So there you have it the major pro’s and con’s when it comes to the Adsense program, well do you still think you can make money with Adsense?
